Automotive Fleet Technician/Mechanic

About the role

Amerit Fleet Solutions, a leader in fleet maintenance across the U.S., is hiring an experienced Automotive Technician/Mechanic to join their team in San Mateo, CA. This role offers competitive compensation, benefits, and potential bonuses.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on light to medium duty fleet vehicles
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards
• Accurately document repairs and complete work orders
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including your tools and equipment
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support fleet operations

Requirements

• 5+ years’ of hands-on experience performing domestic automotive vehicle maintenance and repairs
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Valid driver’s license
• ASE certifications a big PLUS
• Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position (detailed above)
• Must be eligible to pass standard pre-employment screenings, including drug screen and DOT physical (if required)

Pay & Schedule

• Pay $35.00 - $46.50/hour (based on experience)
• Pay Frequency: Weekly pay - every Friday
• Schedule: Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm

Working Conditions

• Mobile, outside, and/or shop environment
• Exposure to dust, diesel fumes, noise, and mechanical materials such as oils and greases
• Frequent movement such as standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods
• Lifting heavy objects and accessing tight or confined spaces
• Regular use of hands to grasp, reach, handle, and operate tools and equipment
• May be required to work at heights using ladders or elevated platforms
• Safe navigation of the workspace due to the active work environment and movement of large vehicles
• Ability to see and hear sufficiently to safely navigate the workspace
