About the role
The Finance & Insurance (F&I) Manager at Planet Honda in Union, New Jersey, is responsible for maximizing dealership profitability through the sale of finance and insurance products while ensuring a seamless customer experience and full compliance with all federal, state, lender, and OEM requirements.
Responsibilities
- Secure financing and leasing approvals through approved lender relationships.
- Present and sell finance and insurance products including service contracts, GAP, maintenance plans, theft protection, tire & wheel coverage, and ancillary products.
- Structure deals to maximize profitability while maintaining compliance and lender acceptance.
- Accurately complete, fund, and process all deal documentation.
- Partner with Sales Managers and Sales Consultants to facilitate a smooth transition from vehicle purchase to contract signing.
- Maintain strong lender relationships and stay current on financing programs, rates, and incentives.
- Monitor key performance indicators including product penetration, reserve income, finance income, and customer satisfaction metrics.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations including Truth in Lending, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, OFAC requirements, privacy regulations, and dealership policies.
- Maintain thorough and accurate deal jackets, funding records, and customer documentation.
- Deliver a professional, transparent, and customer-focused buying experience that supports long-term retention and referral business.
- Ensure CIT's are cleared daily for faster funding times and to prioritize customer satisfaction.
- All other duties as assigned by dealership leadership.
Requirements
- 3+ years of automotive F&I experience within an OEM franchise dealership.
- Demonstrated success in achieving strong product penetration and finance income performance.
- Strong knowledge of retail finance, lender programs, leasing structures, and automotive protection products.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and dealership compliance requirements.
- Experience with dealership management systems such as CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, RouteOne, or similar platforms.
Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent, 18 years or older required.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay
Total Comp: $140,000.00 - $300,000.00K/ salary range
Schedule
This is a performance-driven position which includes a base/draw/hourly offset, and eligibility for short-term and/or long-term incentives like commission and bonus. Actual pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and physical location.
