About the role

Enterprise Mobility is seeking a responsible, dedicated Automotive Detailer to join our team. You will lead our commitment to exceptional cleaning practices, exceeding standard protocols to ensure the health and safety of everyone. Responsibilities include washing, cleaning, sanitizing, inspecting, and preparing a variety of vehicles—including cars, trucks, and vans—to meet our high cleanliness and safety standards for customer rentals.

Enterprise Mobility is a leading provider of mobility solutions, owning and operating the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental, and Alamo Rent A Car brands. We offer car rental, carsharing, truck rental, fleet management, retail car sales, and other transportation services.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, sanitize, vacuum, and prepare vehicle interior according to industry-standard protocols
  • Wash, clean, and dry the vehicle's exterior, including cars, vans, and trucks
  • Check fuel level and warning lights; inspect windshield for damage
  • Factory reset/restore vehicle settings to clear prior customer data
  • Check for customer items and place anything of value in Lost & Found
  • Verify that registration is present, current, and matches the license plate
  • Check fluid levels and add as needed; inspect tire condition, pressure, and tread depth
  • Inspect vehicle exterior for damage
  • Fuel and stage vehicle
  • Inspect vehicle for safety concerns; report warning lights, damage, or issues
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area; report unsafe or hazardous conditions
  • Operate tools such as carpet shampoo machines or air purifiers to eliminate stains, pet hair, and odors
  • Assist customers when needed; may transport customers to and from branches
  • Help maintain overall site appearance, including cleaning interiors and exteriors of branch locations (e.g., desktops, countertops, phones, floors, trash, bathrooms, vacuuming, sweeping the lot)
  • Seek to improve job performance through self-assessment, skill development, training, and goal setting
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Valid, unrestricted U.S. driver’s license (ability to operate a motor vehicle is essential)
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring work authorization sponsorship
  • Able to read, write, and understand English
  • Must live within a reasonable commute (no more than 1 hour) from the Northern Bergen/Passaic County location
  • At least six consecutive months of prior work or organizational experience
  • At least 18 years of age

New Jersey DMV Requirements: First-time drivers and those under 21 must complete the mandatory Graduated Driver License (GDL) program.

Pay

Starting rate of $17.50 per hour, based on a 25- or 40-hour workweek. Employees can earn yearly merit increases based on performance.

Schedule

  • Full-time: 40 hours per week (consistent schedule)
  • Part-time: 25 hours per week
  • Flexible schedules available (up to 40 hours for full-time, 25 hours for part-time)
  • Weekends are required for all shifts
