About the role

We are hiring for immediate openings as a part-time Automotive Detailer for our National and Alamo car rental brands. This position is located at the Albany International Airport, NY, with a schedule of 25 hours per week.

Pay

Starting rate of pay is $19.00 per hour. Employees have the opportunity to earn incentive pay of up to $200 per month based on business performance, as well as yearly merit increases based on individual performance.

Two schedule options are available:

  • Sunday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Monday: OFF
  • Tuesday: OFF
  • Wednesday: OFF
  • Thursday: OFF
  • Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Saturday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Sunday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Monday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Tuesday: OFF
  • Wednesday: OFF
  • Thursday: OFF
  • Friday: OFF
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Responsibilities

  • Clean, sanitize, vacuum, and prepare vehicle interior according to industry-standard protocols
  • Wash, clean, and dry the vehicle's exterior, including cars, vans, and trucks
  • Inspect vehicles for cleanliness, safety, and readiness, including:
    • Checking fuel level and warning lights
    • Inspecting windshield for damage
    • Factory resetting/restoring vehicle settings to clear prior customer data
    • Checking for customer items and placing valuables in Lost & Found
    • Verifying registration is present, current, and matches the license plate
  • Check fluid levels and add as needed; inspect tire condition, pressure, and tread depth
  • Inspect vehicle exterior for damage; report any warning lights, windshield, or tire damage
  • Fuel and stage vehicles for rental readiness
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area; report unsafe or hazardous conditions
  • Operate tools such as carpet shampoo machines or air purifiers to eliminate stains, pet hair, and odors
  • Assist customers as needed, including transporting them to and from branches
  • Maintain overall site appearance, including:
    • Cleaning desktops, countertops, phones, floors, and bathrooms
    • Vacuuming, sweeping the lot, and performing other miscellaneous cleaning tasks
  • Seek to improve job performance through self-assessment, skill development, training, and goal setting
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Valid, unrestricted U.S. driver's license (ability to operate a motor vehicle is essential)
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Must live within a reasonable commute of no more than 1 hour from the Albany International Airport location
  • At least six (6) consecutive months of prior work or organizational experience
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring work authorization sponsorship now or in the future
