Automotive Body Tech

About the role

The Automotive Body Technician will perform restoration and maintenance on vehicles in a quick, yet thorough manner, coordinating with the Body Shop Director.

Responsibilities

• Restore damaged vehicles to their original structural state, function, and appearance
• Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window-and-seat-operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicle body and fenders
• Work with various metals and plastics, glass, electrical and mechanical parts
• Remove damaged panels, any damaged vehicle part
• File, grind and sand repaired surfaces
• Align or replace damaged parts according to manufacturers' specifications
• Aim headlights
• Replace bolts on panels and align properly
• Make cosmetic repairs
• Properly fill depressions with body filler to ensure a quality repair
• Able to remove damaged parts using power tools and cutting torch
• Straighten bent automobile frames using frame rack
• Additional job duties as assigned
