Auto Body Tech
About the role
Reporting to the Body Shop or designated Manager, perform body repair work in a production environment. Maintain high standards for efficiency and observe all safety requirements. Perform all additional duties assigned by the manager.
Responsibilities
- Remove, repair, or replace damaged parts
- Properly fill and sand in preparation for paint process
- Use welding, soldering, and cutting torches as required
- Perform visual and feel quality inspection prior to the spraying of any product to ensure the vehicle is properly prepped for paint
- Avoid vehicles are properly cleaned and dusted before painting
- May mask vehicles in preparation for painting
- Communicate with other technicians to meet production goals and customer standards
- Clean equipment to ensure proper maintenance
- Aid with general shop cleanliness and organization
- Provide prompt and courteous service to all
- Maintain a professional appearance and neat work environment
- Resolve any customer complaints in a friendly, courteous manner and advise management of all serious complaints or incidents
- Promote and follow safety policies
Requirements
- High School or GED preferred
- 1 year of experience in paint and body
- Automotive/auction experience preferred
- Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license that meets requirements
- May be required to provide sufficient tools to perform the job
- Basic computer skills
