Automation Technical Professional – DCS/SIS

About the role

Wood is recruiting for a Senior Automation Technical Professional with a strong background in Honeywell DCS & Safety Manager SIS to be based at their client's location in Wood River, Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Participate in designing and implementing automation systems for oil & gas and process industry projects, engaging in all project phases from front-end engineering to commissioning.
• Support site surveys, FATs, SATs, and commissioning activities, while reviewing project schedules and cost estimates.
• Aid procurement with vendor lists, requisitions, and technical evaluations, and travel to customer locations for project implementation (25%)

Qualifications

• Expected Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical, Computers/Systems, or Mechatronics.
• At least 10 years of automation experience, with preference for experience in an operating company, systems vendor, or engineering services provider for the onshore/offshore oil & gas and/or energy industry.
• Hands-on experience with Honeywell Experion/TDC DCS or FSC/SM, and Allen Bradley PLC.
• Demonstrated proficiency in relational databases, application interfaces, and Human Machine Interface design and implementation.
• Strong background and direct experience with multiple systems platforms, operating systems, and the interactions between systems, system hardware, and architecture.
• Knowledge of P&IDs and instrumentation/control equipment.
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, MS Teams, etc.).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers, clients, and vendors.
