Automation Software Engineer II - LabVIEW/TestStand
About the role
The Automation Software Engineer II position is available at Medtronic Tempe Campus (MTC) to support Manufacturing Operations. This role requires a thorough understanding of current manufacturing automation software, strong problem-solving and analytic skills, and excellent written and oral communication.
Responsibilities
- Serve as technical owner for software automation supporting manufacturing acceptance test and visual inspection stations.
- Provide expert-level support for production-critical issues.
- Lead application enhancements, migrations, and modernization efforts driven by user needs, instrumentation, and infrastructure changes.
- Partner with business stakeholders to perform automation application updates, manage technical risk, and coordinate releases.
- Establish and maintain required SDLC documentation, testing, and release.
Requirements
- Requires a Baccalaureate degree and minimum of 2 years of relevant Software Engineering experience OR Master's degree with a minimum of 0 years relevant experience in Software Engineering.
- Preferred qualifications include proficiency in National Instruments LabView and TestStand, strong knowledge of the full Software Development Life Cycle, experience with multiple modern and legacy Windows Operating Systems, proven ability to support production systems in a regulated manufacturing environment, experience in medical device manufacturing or other regulated industries, experience modernizing legacy applications, and familiarity with manufacturing traceability systems.
