Automation Service Technician

We are a full-service mechanical contractor providing customers in the commercial, residential, and industrial sectors with innovative, energy-efficient heating and air conditioning services, automation and controls, industrial piping, new construction design and installation, and maintenance and replacement services.

About the Role

Provide control service diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance tasks in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair DDC systems and components including terminal, unitary, and plant controllers, such as:
  • Verification of proper bus operation
  • Conducting point-to-point checks
  • Calibrate sensors
  • Downloading controllers
  • Verify equipment sequence
• Diagnose and repair integration issues to allow for a fully functioning system
• Understand and modify building and control-level programming
• Perform control maintenance tasks
• Maintain excellent communication between the automation department and its customers

Administrative Duties

• Arrive at the assigned location at the assigned time
• Complete all necessary paperwork for processing in a timely manner, including:
  • Service and maintenance forms
  • Safety material
• Maintain technical knowledge and participate in training when necessary
• Maintain all company-supplied tools and resources
• Accurately record time
• Be available after normal working hours when needed
• Participate in rotating after-hours service calls
• Maintain assigned company vehicle

Requirements

• Adhere to safety standards
• Strong computer skills with working knowledge of building automation systems (Tridium, Honeywell, Johnson FX, Trane, and Carrier preferred)
• Understanding of HVAC standards and practices consistent with industry requirements
• Good working knowledge of the design, operation, and maintenance of a wide range of commercial HVAC equipment and controls
• 5 years of industry experience preferred
• Clean driving record
