About the role

Crawford Electric Supply is a subsidiary of Sonepar USA, operating throughout the southeast region of the United States. As an Automation Sales Specialist – End User, you will play a crucial role in developing and growing relationships with industrial End Users by identifying automation opportunities tied to modernization, reliability improvement, and operational efficiency. Your responsibilities include leading the sales process by aligning customer challenges with industrial automation solutions, identifying and qualifying automation opportunities, collaborating with existing sales representatives, and staying informed on industrial trends.

Responsibilities

  • End User Account Development: Build and grow relationships with industrial End Users by identifying automation opportunities tied to modernization, reliability improvement, and operational efficiency.
  • Solution-Based Selling: Lead the sales process by aligning customer challenges with industrial automation solutions including PLCs, HMIs, drives, motion, safety, and industrial networking.
  • Opportunity Identification & Qualification: Identify, qualify, and advance automation opportunities across engineering, operations, maintenance, and capital project stakeholders.
  • Sales Team Partnership & Account Support: Collaborate with existing sales representatives to support established End User accounts by delivering automation expertise, assisting with opportunity development, and identifying growth opportunities while maintaining alignment with existing account ownership.
  • Customer & Market Insight: Stay informed on industrial trends, customer operational challenges, and competitive alternatives to strengthen solution relevance and value messaging.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • Experience: 5+ years in industrial automation sales, technical sales, or related industrial roles. Experience working with plant engineering, operations, maintenance, or capital projects preferred
  • Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of industrial automation systems and control architecture. Understanding of modernization strategies and competitive automation platforms
  • Professional Skills: Strong consultative selling and relationship management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple opportunities across varied stakeholders. Clear communication and presentation skills.
