About the role
The Automation Engineer supports operations in Charleston, SC, and requires an active DoD Top Secret clearance.
Responsibilities
- Develops, designs, implements, tests, and evaluates software and systems.
- Analyzes software requirements and consults with hardware engineers.
- Designs and maintains scalable cloud infrastructure.
- Builds and manages CI/CD pipelines.
- Implements monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
- Supports hybrid cloud environments.
- Leads automation initiatives and mentors junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with a focus in computer science.
- 10 years of experience with a Master’s degree, or 14 years with a Bachelor’s degree.
- Working knowledge of FISMA and NIST 800-53.
- Implementation of IAM policies, encryption, logging, and monitoring.
- Risk mitigation skills.
- Access control expertise.
- Technical expertise in cloud platforms, IaC, scripting, networking, configuration management, containers, and tooling.
Qualifications
- Current and active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
- Professional AWS certifications (DevOps Engineer Professional or Solutions Architect Professional) preferred.
- Associate AWS certifications (SysOps Administrator or Solutions Architect Associate) preferred.
- Project/Process certifications (ITIL or PMP) preferred.
- Hands-on experience with GitLab CI, CloudWatch, and either Python or Bash.
- Physical and work environment requirements include periods of prolonged sitting and standing, occasional extended work hours, and travel.
