About the role
Maverick Power is seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to support the development, testing, and deployment of power distribution equipment. This role involves both on-site and field responsibilities, working closely with engineering, testing, and support teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy PLC and HMI projects specific to power distribution systems
- Provide hands-on support to the testing department for system validation and troubleshooting
- Travel to customer sites as needed (approximately 6–8 weeks per year; more may be required based on project needs)
- Serve as the primary contact and mentor for junior engineers
- Aid in the selection and implementation of components in coordination with the engineering team
- Interface directly with customers to ensure technical needs are met and communicated clearly
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in automation or related engineering fields
- Minimum of 3 years of experience providing field support for automated systems
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with Codesys programming
- Strong customer-facing and communication skills
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at time
- Prolonged periods standing on the manufacturing floor and sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Prolonged periods sitting, standing, walking, and performing repetitive tasks
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and work at heights for extended periods
- Must have vision correctable to 20/20 and be able to wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, boots, gloves, etc.)
- Duties are performed in a loud production setting subject to extreme temperatures. Some duties may be required to be performed outside
