Principle Duties & Responsibilities
- Analyze production processes to pinpoint areas of inefficiency and determine their root causes.
- Assess current equipment and recommend necessary changes or additions to increase throughput and improve production capacity.
- Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify opportunities for automation that could drive significant benefits.
- Optimize equipment layouts, workflows, changeover methods, and workforce utilization to enhance overall efficiency.
- Investigate and communicate with equipment manufacturers to explore promising automated solutions that align with our needs.
- Plan, implement, and oversee the installation of justified automation projects to ensure successful execution and integration.
- Work closely with production and maintenance teams to ensure the efficient integration of new equipment, minimizing production downtime.
- Ensure all production processes adhere to safety standards and are optimized for efficiency and effectiveness.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- Must be proficient in computer aided design including 3D modeling software.
- Must have experience with automation and robotics.
- Must be results oriented with ability to manage multiple projects.
- Proficiency in automation systems with a focus on performance management rather than direct PLC programming.
- Must have excellent problem-solving skills.
- Must be proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office programs.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have strong organizational, analytical and communication skills.
- Must be able to communicate and field questions in a friendly and professional manner.
- Requires nearly constant concentration and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of and the ability to effectively utilize the English language.
- Requires education as is generally acquired in four (4) years of college with a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering or technology field, applicable majors include Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical or Chemical Engineering.
- Requires some international and domestic travel.
- Ability to talk and hear 90% of work time.
- Standing and walking required 25% of work time.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds for 20% of work time.
- Ability to: see clearly at 20 inches or 20 feet or more; ability to identify and distinguish colors; ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while the eyes are fixed on a given point; and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
