Automation Engineer
Responsibilities
- CAD, robot and PLC programming, and other automation components.
- Testing: oscilloscope, cable and harness testing, trouble shooting, component testing, logic analyzer.
- Inspection: bare board, systems, components, cable and harness, microscope, measuring tools.
- Mechanical & Electrical Tools: taps and dies, alignment tools, measuring tools.
- Office skills: Office software to include, word processing, spreadsheet and presentation.
- Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several.
- Take ownership during the entire life cycle of automation projects, from concept to feasibility and from fabrication and test to production.
- Define, develop, and deploy automation into Flex sites.
- Design the layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency and safety.
- Conduct equipment design reviews and provide design guidance to suppliers.
- Provide on-site support during machine build, debug and testing/qualification.
- Supervise installation and testing to verify requirements and specifications are met.
- Draft qualification protocols and support equipment qualification activities.
- Manufacturing solutions with the best combination of manual, semi-automation and/or full automation.
- Evaluate and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow.
- Participate in design reviews and provide status reports as per established schedule.
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to the operation of the automation equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5 years of Engineering Experience, including broad-based Automation and Engineering PLC, Robot/Cobalt, Vision Systems (Preferred).
- 5 years of experience in Engineering role hands on experience Design and engineer moderate and complex automation equipment, tooling, and applications.
Qualifications
- Make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
- Support new product development automation needs, facilitate assembly processes through the implementation of assembly cells and automated equipment at NPI stage and ensure meeting development timeline.
