About the role
Owns the path from trained model to reliable on-robot execution — standing up and maintaining a humanoid platform, building the deployment pipeline from checkpoint to real-time control, and running the sim-to-real loop. Also acts as technical owner on our side of an external hardware collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Deploy learned policies to physical humanoid/legged robots, including bring-up and ongoing maintenance
- Build and maintain the deployment pipeline from model checkpoint to real-time control
- Execute and iterate the sim-to-real transfer loop with domain randomization
- Integrate low-level control stacks (ROS/ROS2, onboard compute, sensors, actuators)
- Serve as technical point of contact for an external hardware collaboration
- Enforce robot safety practices around people
Requirements
- Hands-on deployment of learned policies to physical humanoid or legged robots (bring-up and maintenance)
- Real-time control and low-level integration (ROS/ROS2, onboard computer, sensors/actuators)
- Sim-to-real transfer with domain randomization
- Python/C++ with PyTorch inference on onboard hardware
- Robot safety practices around people
- BS/MS in robotics, EE, ME, CS, or equivalent hands-on experience
Nice-to-haves
- Direct experience with commercial mid-size or full-size humanoids
- Whole-body control, locomotion, or manipulation stacks
- Experience as technical POC in a vendor or cross-org hardware collaboration
- Teleoperation and motion-capture rigs
- Hardware failure diagnosis and spares logistics
