Automation Engineer

About the role

The Automation Engineer will play a crucial role in managing system infrastructure and applications for DoD or government agencies. They will work with a cross-functional team to develop and implement automation solutions, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines, and support the sustainment and development of critical naval platforms.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the development and implementation of robust, scalable, and efficient CI/CD pipelines
• Maintaining and improving existing CI/CD pipelines
• Developing tools and processes to drive DevSecOps maturity
• Ensuring the smooth deployment and management of infrastructure and applications
• Collaborating with development and operations teams to resolve automation issues
• Continuing to strengthen DevSecOps skills
• Supporting the sustainment and development of critical naval platforms

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience with DoD or government agencies
• 3+ years of experience with troubleshooting, triaging, or resolving automation issues using Ansible or PowerShell
• Knowledge of Agile development
• Knowledge of automation tools including Ansible, version control systems including Git, operating systems including RHEL and Windows, and virtualization including VMware

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED
• Secret clearance

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC)
• Application containerization
• Modeling network configuration in JSON and YAML
• Network automation in Python and Ansible
• Networking principles and concepts

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $86,900.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD).

Schedule

Employees may be required to travel CONUS or OCONUS up to 25% of the time.
