Automation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as project leader on new equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, and training.
• Lead or assist in feasibility studies for new robotic or automation equipment.
• Direct the maintenance, reliability, and performance activities to ensure equipment and systems meet their required targets.
• Train operations and maintenance users in new systems operations and maintenance activities.
• Research and investigate new technologies to decrease CPNA's costs, increase effectiveness, and maintain business viability.
• Aid other maintenance activities across CPNA as required.
• Ensure all systems have secure protection protocols consistent with BlueScope standards.
• Support CPNA digital and customer experience initiatives to provide highly integrated technology solutions.

• Ability to work extended hours.
• Ability to travel at limited notice, and for extended periods with notice.
• Understand time management to follow production plans and schedules.
• Prefer experience with Microsoft operating systems, security, networking, and cloud (Azure) products and services.

Skills & Competencies

• Technical Ability: Manage projects from conception to completion, interpret technical instructions, analyze and solve problems, understand operation of moderately complex tools, machines and systems, operate and understand computer applications.
• Other Requirements: Safe work history, ability to work extended hours, travel, time management, experience with Microsoft operating systems, security, networking, and cloud (Azure) products and services.

Benefits

• Salary Range: $122,000 - $138,000 annually, plus an annual bonus, health and welfare benefits, and 401(k) match in accordance with BlueScope policies.
• Arbitration Notice: Steelscape LLC (and its related BlueScope companies) requires all new hires to sign a Mutual Arbitration Agreement as a condition of employment.

Pay & Schedule

• Pay: $122,000 - $138,000 annually.
• Schedule: Full-time.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering; 3 years' automation/robotics/mechatronics project work; a record of automation project implementation from feasibility to handover.
• Preferred: 5 years' automation/robotics/mechatronics project work; heavy manufacturing experience in the implementation of automation projects with successful cost and performance outcomes; P.E. Certification.
