Automation Engineer

About the role

The Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) team works behind the scenes to ensure Amazon’s fulfillment centers operate efficiently and reliably. You will play a crucial role in optimizing automation systems and supporting the maintenance of critical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Proactively troubleshoot and resolve complex control systems issues
• Monitor and analyze MHE metrics to identify and address performance issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve material handling equipment systems
• Implement innovative projects to enhance operational performance
• Provide technical support to site technicians, both locally and remotely
• Conduct and analyze building system assessments to improve material handling system performance

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent
• 2+ years of PLC programming or automation engineering experience
• Experience with industrial control systems, both hardware and software
• Understanding of PLC-based controls design, development, implementation, and support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent
• Experience with Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs

Skills

• Proficiency in PLC-based controls design, development, implementation, and support
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex control systems issues
• Knowledge of industrial control systems, both hardware and software
• Experience with material handling, flow, and capacity
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Pay

Base salary range: $81,000.00 - $101,300.00 USD annually
