About the role

Greenheck Group is seeking an Automation and Controls Technician I/II/III in Knoxville, TN. This role involves providing advanced expertise in automated production equipment, electrical controls, and lasers, and includes troubleshooting, safety, and project management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting: Advanced electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting, system diagnostics, and repair of automated CNC and motion control systems.
  • Safety: Adhering to all manufacturing safety practices and compliance items.
  • General: Immediate response to production and maintenance requests, ensuring proper operation and repairs, and documenting work and time.
  • Projects: Independently managing and executing complex projects, coordinating with OEM support, and participating in weekend on-call rotations.
  • Administrative: Specifying needed parts, scheduling and coordinating OEM service, and documenting work in CMMS.

Requirements

  • Automation and Controls Technician I: 0-2 years of relevant work experience in industrial equipment, power distribution, automation in a manufacturing environment; 2 Year / Associate Degree in Electromechanical, Electronics, Automation, or a related field or equivalent job experience.
  • Automation and Controls Technician II: 2-4 years of relevant work experience in industrial equipment, power distribution, automation in a manufacturing environment; 2 Year / Associate Degree in Electromechanical, Electronics, Automation, or a related field or equivalent job experience; Allen Bradley 500, 5000 platform programming training; AutoCAD Electrical; Project Management skills; Troubleshooting skills.
  • Automation and Controls Technician III: 4-6 years of relevant work experience in industrial equipment, power distribution, automation in a manufacturing environment; 2 Year / Associate Degree in Electromechanical, Electronics, Automation, or a related field or equivalent job experience; Full awareness and understanding of all electrical hazards and mitigation techniques; Allen Bradley 500, 5000 platform training; AutoCAD electrical; GE Proficy training; Trumpf LM1 and LM2 training; Manage projects from start to finish; Excellent troubleshooting skills; OEM equipment training.
