Automatic Door Technician

About the role

Piedmont Door Solutions, the Southeast’s leading choice in pedestrian door and entrance solutions since 2001, is seeking an Automatic Door Repair and Install Technician for its Baltimore, MD branch, supporting Virginia and Maryland. Technicians repair, maintain, and install doors on‑site in commercial buildings, hospitals, stores, and similar facilities. The company provides necessary training, tools, equipment, and service vehicles. Depending on the location you choose (Charlotte, Greensboro, Raleigh, NC; Columbia, SC; Atlanta, GA; Birmingham, AL; Lake Worth, FL; Dallas and Houston, TX), you may need to drive up to two hours to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain doors, turnstiles, revolving doors, and other entrance or security products.
• Take initiative: proactively assist in projects, demonstrating autonomy in a high‑expectation, low‑supervision environment to drive project success.
• Learn and adapt: embrace opportunities to learn techniques from trainers, building on existing skills and showing a desire to grow.
• Maintain a professional worksite: ensure a clean, organized, and professional environment, paying attention to detail, taking pride in workmanship, and solving problems for customers.
• Work with office staff: order and track parts, materials, and time spent on services.

Requirements

• Unrestricted and valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Comfortable using power tools and hand tools, personally or professionally; preference for experience in carpentry, electrical, military, HVAC, or similar trades.
• Successful completion of a background check and drug screen required.
• Flu and other vaccinations may be required.

Skills

• Ability to stand, bend, and/or climb for extended periods in a non‑climate‑controlled environment.
• Capable of lifting 75+ pounds.
• Ability to work at heights and use a ladder.

Pay

Hourly wage: $25/hour – $45/hour, depending on experience.
