About the role

The role involves assisting with the installation and maintenance of automatic doors and related equipment. It also includes supporting safety programs and performing construction-related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with installation of automatic doors and associated equipment.
  • Absorb and prepare worksite locations for installation, including measurements, alterations, and construction modifications.
  • Support construction work such as framing and build-ins.
  • Proactively support safety programs and initiatives, complying with safety policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate and ensure proper tools and equipment are available before commencing work.
  • Document work to be performed and review with customers.
  • Oversight the care and maintenance of equipment, tools, and vehicles provided by Door Services Corporation.
  • Maintain appropriate parts inventory in company vehicles and ensure availability for work.
  • Represent Door Services Corporation with customers in a professional manner.
  • Travel to customer locations throughout the service area while maintaining safe driving practices.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in glass and aluminum store fronts is preferred.
  • An electrical background is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the Automatic Door Industry is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively.
  • Basic math skills including fractions and reading a tape measure.
  • Valid driver's license.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly reaches with hands and arms.
  • Frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and using hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds, occasionally up to 150 pounds.
  • Occasional team lifts for items 50 pounds or more.
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be capable of working at heights to service doors and operators using ladders.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
  • Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
