About the role
Tectonic is excited to offer an excellent growth opportunity for a full-time AutoCAD Technician with AutoCAD drafting experience to join our Land Surveying Department based within our Orange County, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Performing reduction of survey field data, photographs, and sketches
- The calculations of and analysis of field data to develop detailed technical survey plans
- Preparation of survey maps, including boundary and topographic surveys, plans, cross sections, and profiles using CADD methods
- Communicating with project managers, surveyors, and colleagues to modify drawings in accordance with project specifications
- Printing, copying, scanning, and organizing CADD drawings
- Occasional site visits may be required from time to time
Qualifications
- Minimum 1+ years of on the job experience in Civil Engineering or Land Surveying using AutoCAD 2024 or newer is desired
- Point Cloud experience is preferred
- Land Surveying experience is strongly preferred
- HS Diploma/equivalent required
- Associate's Degree or Certificate Program in Architecture, Drafting, or similar is a plus
- Must be detail oriented, with effective written and verbal communication skills
- Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid, clean driver's license

- Close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Moving around on a job-site, including ascending or descending on the landscape or on a ladder, and positioning themselves appropriately to obtain necessary specifications
- Lifting and/or moving equipment and materials up to 10 lbs
- Operating a motor-vehicle, which may require assuming a stationary position for extended periods of time
