Autocad Drafter
About the role
We are seeking an AutoCAD 2D Drafter / Designer to support the design, drafting, manufacturing, and installation of custom architectural and outdoor shade structures, including awnings, canopies, patio covers, and related products.
Responsibilities
- Create and revise detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings based on project specifications, field measurements, and customer requirements.
- Develop fabrication, shop, and installation drawings for custom manufactured architectural and outdoor shade products.
- Review design concepts and ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, industry practices, and company standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, estimators, production teams, and installers throughout the project lifecycle to support successful project delivery.
- Verify dimensions, materials, and construction details for accuracy before fabrication and installation.
- Maintain drawing revisions, version control, and project documentation in an organized and accessible manner.
- Assist with material takeoffs and provide drawing-related support for production and installation teams.
- Participate in project meetings and provide drafting expertise and updates as needed.
- Interpret architectural, construction, and fabrication drawings to produce clear and accurate CAD documentation.
- Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards in all drafting work.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience using AutoCAD 2D in a professional setting.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D for creating detailed design, fabrication, and installation drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, construction, and fabrication drawings.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in dimensions, materials, and construction details.
- Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with project managers, estimators, production, and installation teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, communication, and basic data management.
- Familiarity with shop drawings and fabrication drawings used in manufacturing and construction environments.
- Experience working in manufacturing, construction, architectural products, metal fabrication, or custom structures.
- Experience with field measurements and preparing as-built drawings.
Qualifications
- Experience with 3D modeling or drafting (such as AutoCAD 3D, Inventor, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar software) is a plus but not required.
- Experience in civil or construction-related CAD work is beneficial.
- Ability to collaborate with high-end and complex projects and clients.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift based on project needs.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.

Work Environment
You work on-site in an office environment within the CAD department as part of a close-knit team of approximately five CAD professionals. The culture is family oriented, and colleagues actively support one another to ensure projects are completed successfully. The company values each employee as an individual rather than a number and offers benefits after a qualifying period, along with six paid holidays. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Business casual dress is expected in the office.
