Piper Companies is seeking an AutoCAD Consultant to join a leading organization within the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry for a 3-month contract opportunity in Durham, NC. This is a hybrid role requiring onsite attendance 1-2 days per week.
About the role
The AutoCAD Consultant will support engineering and facilities teams by updating existing technical drawings, managing revision workflows, and helping reduce a large backlog of documentation updates. This position is ideal for a drafting professional with strong AutoCAD expertise who can work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and document control.
Responsibilities
- Update existing AutoCAD drawings by incorporating approved engineering markups and field-driven revisions.
- Maintain DWG files, revision logs, and drawing records in accordance with established documentation procedures.
- Verify accuracy and completeness of drawing updates through detailed quality reviews prior to release.
- Partner with engineers, facilities personnel, and document control teams to ensure timely completion of drawing modifications.
- Support backlog reduction efforts by efficiently processing a high volume of drawing revisions and as-built updates.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, CAD Design, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional AutoCAD drafting experience with advanced DWG file management skills.
- Proven experience implementing engineering redlines and revision updates to existing drawings.
- Strong knowledge of document control practices, drawing standards, and revision management processes.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills with the ability to work independently.
Pay
Salary Range: $40-$55/hr
