About the role
Bassett Furniture is seeking a positive and motivated professional with a passion for interior design and exceptional selling skills to join our team as a Design Consultant. In this role, you will help customers bring their dream rooms to life through relationship selling, design consultations, and makeovers.
Responsibilities
- Build meaningful and long-term customer relationships using "relationship selling" techniques.
- Conduct interior design consultations and makeovers to maximize selling opportunities.
- Create, present, and sell product and design solutions tailored to customer needs.
- Engage customers to determine their preferences based on taste, lifestyle, and investment range.
- Drive to customers’ residences and businesses for in-person makeovers.
- Conduct virtual appointments and live chats.
- Stay knowledgeable about furniture construction and current design trends.
Requirements
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
- Desire to work in a commissioned sales environment.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail setting.
- Self-motivated with a focus on building clientele.
- Computer proficiency.

Pay
This role offers a generous commission-based compensation plan, with income potential limited only by your effort. Experienced Bassett Design Consultants average $70,000–$105,000 per year, with top performers earning up to $135,000 annually. Additional bonus opportunities are available.
