About the role

The Auto Glass Technician plays a crucial role at Safelite, focusing on vehicle glass repair and replacement services. This position requires a combination of technical skills, customer service, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services at Safelite Shops and Mobile Glass Shops.
  • Clean customer vehicles after every job.
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and diagnostic testing.
  • Operate Safelite’s tools and technologies, such as True Seal®, Ezi-Wire™, Glass Table System (GTS), chemicals, and Safelite’s handheld Mobile Resource Management (MRM) technology.
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.
  • Communicate with all scheduled customers in-person, via text, and on the phone; promote and sell Safelite promotional items and services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and any other license(s) (as required by federal, state and local laws) to operate a company vehicle.
  • Required Safelite SafeTech™ certification.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing for extended periods, working in tight spaces, bending, twisting, operating various hand and power tools safely, and operating a motor vehicle.
  • Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools to complete recalibrations and troubleshoot issues.
  • Problem-solving and ability to trouble-shoot issues, independently and collaboratively.
  • Read, write, and interpret the English language and technical directions.
  • Communicate orally (via phone) and written (via computer or other electronic means).
  • Maintain a professional appearance, adhering to Company uniform and PPE policies.
  • Willingness and ability to maintain stable performance under professional or personal pressure and/or opposition.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent.

Skills and Abilities

Pay

Competitive weekly pay starting at $20.25/hour, increasing to $24.00/hour after training and certification.
