About the Role
A Technician Trainee learns to perform auto glass repairs, replacements, and recalibrations through hands-on and classroom training. Upon certification, they will work independently to ensure high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Assist and observe in auto glass installation and repair
- Recalibrate automotive safety systems, troubleshoot, and conduct diagnostic testing
- Provide additional services and products to customers
- Study and pass certification tests to become a Safelite-certified Technician
- Safely operate company vehicles, tools, and chemicals
- Follow all policies and standards, perform assigned duties, and embody a service-oriented attitude
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license (Class E license required in some locations)
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and computer systems
- Strong customer service skills, professionalism, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and handle chemicals safely
- Effective communication skills in English and flexibility in work hours
Pay
Competitive hourly pay starting at $20.25, increasing upon certification, with options to earn extra through value-added services.
