Auto Finance Credit Manager

About the role

The Auto Finance Regional Area Credit Manager oversees all credit operations for auto dealer originated (indirect) consumer loans for multiple geographic markets. This role involves direct oversight of credit decisions, portfolio compliance, risk management, and dealer relations, while ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all credit decisions and personally handle the most complex loans.
• Develop and maintain business in assigned markets through dealer relations and customer service.
• Monitor portfolio compliance and risk within assigned geographic markets.
• Ensure all staff are properly trained and that policies, procedures, and regulations are followed.
• Make recommendations for policy changes to improve operational effectiveness.
• Approve, deny, and negotiate consumer auto credit applications originated through auto dealers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5+ years of related experience

• Local dealer knowledge and relationships
• Experience working with multiple dealerships and dealer groups
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong sales and negotiation skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Prime auto underwriting experience
• Professional, personable, and friendly communication style with a focus on customer service
• Ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels, both in person and on the phone
• Self-motivated and effective in a deadline-driven, multi-task environment with strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills

Exempt Status

Yes (not eligible for overtime pay)

Compensation

$93,000 – $189,000 Annual Salary (base compensation range; actual pay varies based on location, experience, and education). Eligible for applicable incentive compensation plans.
