Primary Purpose

Take ownership of field appraisal assignments for corporate fleets and insurance partners, with a strong focus on autos.

Your expertise will ensure accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional client satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set appointments same day, inspect within 24 hours and write estimate car side
  • Depending on location - appraiser is expected to write 6 to 10 estimates per day
  • Ensures proper vehicle tear down
  • Determine repair time allotments and required labor operations
  • Makes accurate repair/replace decisions
  • Assess and applies pre-existing damage, completes accurate total loss evaluations
  • Negotiates agreed price with shop decision maker and sets time bound expected completion date per Client Guidelines
  • Reviews and assesses the validity of all supplement requests
  • Proactively provides customers with information regarding their vehicle’s cost of repair estimate and explains claims/repair process
  • Maintains accurate vehicle’s cost of repair estimate and explains claims/repair process
  • Negotiates advanced fees for tow, tear down, and storage on all vehicles that are determined to a financial total loss at a repair facility or tow yard
  • Provides extraordinary customer service to all parties involved in the claims process
  • Other duties as assigned by management or as needed.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • When not in the field, assists quality assurance team and be available for desk appraisal work as well.

Qualifications

  • Education & Licensing:
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred (but not required).
    • Licenses as required, as needed.
    • Professional certifications as applicable to line-of-business preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Four (4) years of insurance or body shop experience required.

  • Good technical knowledge of auto appraisals

Pay Transparency Disclosure

As required by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency in job postings. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and cost of specific location. For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is ($55,000 - $65,000 annually).
