Auto Field Adjuster - National General
About the role
National General is a part of The Allstate Corporation, offering home, auto, and accident and health insurance. We seek an experienced Auto Field Adjuster to join our Field Estimating team in Fremont, California or Morgan Hill, California. Ideal candidates have experience with major insurance carriers and strong auto damage assessment skills.
Responsibilities
- Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments, and documents all activities in complex files
- Applies mastered content in interpreting policy types and assisting leadership in training
- Creates estimates for complex first and third-party material damage losses
- Builds relationships with internal and external customers
- Interprets regulatory compliance and fair claims practices
- Exhibits mastery in estimating fundamentals
Requirements
- Active insurance license (must terminate existing appointments)
- Resident producer license (must surrender if applicable)
- Experience working for a major insurance carrier
- Strong background in auto damage assessment
- Strong analytical thinking, auto collision repair, and damage appraisal skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Customer-focused approach and ability to build positive relationships

Pay
Compensation varies based on experience and qualifications. Base compensation ranges from $26.49 to $37.50 per hour for Field Adjuster Cons I, $28.03 to $39.42 per hour for Field Adjuster Cons II, $35.82 to $45.58 per hour for Field Adjuster Sr. Cons I, and $37.98 to $48.08 per hour for Field Adjuster Sr. Cons II. Additional components, such as incentive pay, may apply.
Schedule
The role is field-based and territory-specific, requiring flexibility to travel within assigned areas.
