Auto Claims Appraiser

This position will be staffed out of our Nashville, TN or Davenport, IA, or Stevens Point, WI offices following the hybrid work model. This position is NOT available for remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections on auto damage to prepare and review repair estimates.
  • Virtually inspect damaged vehicles to assess the extent of structural, body, mechanical, and interior damage.
  • Prepare detailed, accurate, and comprehensive damage reports and repair estimates using specialized software.
  • Maintain detailed records of appraisals, photographs, and communications related to each claim.
  • Review and interpret insurance policies to determine coverage and liability.
  • Negotiate settlements with repair facilities and clients, ensuring fairness and compliance with company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, repair shops, and insurance adjusters to ensure clarity and satisfaction in the claims process.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client concerns and inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, repair techniques, and new vehicle models to provide informed and accurate assessments.
  • Obtain and maintain state adjuster/appraiser licenses as required.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of vehicle repairs gained from previous experience in a repair facility, appraising responsibilities, or collision repair course work preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance policies, coverages, and claim procedures beneficial.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing highly beneficial.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of estimating software preferred.
  • Superior time management skills and ability to perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently beneficial.
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record if driving own or company vehicle.
