Job Requirements
- Work one on one at our center to provide effective therapy to teach new skills and decrease problematic behavior as directed by behavioral therapist and licensed supervisor
- Flexible part-time hours with the opportunities to increase hours
- Receive initial and ongoing paid training in the application of applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapeutic techniques
- Provide energetic, enthusiastic, and playful interactions with the clients while receiving ongoing support and supervision
- Maintain respectful demeanor, professional boundaries, and client confidentiality at all times
- Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner
Skills and Competencies
- Candidate must be able to naturally interact to develop rapport with children with a variety of functioning levels
- Candidate must display a high level of energy, compassion, and patience
- Candidate must possess the ability to be self-motivated and to work independently
- Candidate must display strong critical thinking skills, and creative problem solving
- Candidate must treat the child and family with dignity, respect and be non-judgmental while maintaining professional boundaries
- Candidate must be able to maintain confidentiality and abide by ethical guidelines
Other Experience and Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years or older
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver's license and proof of insurance
- Must pass a caregiver background check
- Must be able to sit on floor, move around, lift and/or maneuver up to 50lb child
- Must be able to swiftly and effectively respond to aggressive behaviors utilizing learned behavior management techniques
- Prior experience working with children on the autism spectrum is highly preferred but not required as we will train the right candidate
