Autism and Behavioral Technician

Job Requirements

• Work one on one at our center to provide effective therapy to teach new skills and decrease problematic behavior as directed by behavioral therapist and licensed supervisor
• Flexible part-time hours with the opportunities to increase hours
• Receive initial and ongoing paid training in the application of applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapeutic techniques
• Provide energetic, enthusiastic, and playful interactions with the clients while receiving ongoing support and supervision
• Maintain respectful demeanor, professional boundaries, and client confidentiality at all times
• Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner

• Candidate must be able to naturally interact to develop rapport with children with a variety of functioning levels
• Candidate must display a high level of energy, compassion, and patience
• Candidate must possess the ability to be self-motivated and to work independently
• Candidate must display strong critical thinking skills, and creative problem solving
• Candidate must treat the child and family with dignity, respect and be non-judgmental while maintaining professional boundaries
• Candidate must be able to maintain confidentiality and abide by ethical guidelines

Other Experience and Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years or older
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver's license and proof of insurance
• Must pass a caregiver background check
• Must be able to sit on floor, move around, lift and/or maneuver up to 50lb child
• Must be able to swiftly and effectively respond to aggressive behaviors utilizing learned behavior management techniques
• Prior experience working with children on the autism spectrum is highly preferred but not required as we will train the right candidate
