Authorization Specialist (Remote)

Overview

Aveanna Healthcare is seeking an Authorization Specialist to support our Florida operations. The ideal candidate will manage insurance authorizations and communications with patients and insurance carriers to ensure timely and accurate reimbursements.

Essential Job Functions

• Manage the patient insurance authorization process for clinical care team requests.
• Initiate communication with insurance carriers for pre-certifications and authorizations.
• Proactively work with carriers to ensure timely receipt of required documentation.
• Communicate changes in insurance practices and requirements to the clinical team.
• Maintain accuracy and completeness of authorization submissions.
• Provide timely status updates to treating clinicians.
• Support patients with insurance coverage information and payment options.
• Notify leadership of authorization issues affecting patient care.
• Collaborate with multiple Florida locations to maintain exceptional customer service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work Eastern Time business hours while supporting the Florida market.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

• Strong sense of touch and smell.

Work Environment

• Remote position supporting the Florida region during Eastern Time business hours.
• Must have reliable internet service.
