Authorization Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional service every time.
• Maintain and exceed annual performance indicators as outlined by organizational leadership.
• Complete assigned tasks and worklists in a timely manner.
• Schedule and bill for equipment rentals on time and accurately.
• Obtain and update necessary medical documentation for patients.
• Stay informed on insurance guidelines and requirements.
• Ensure patient charts are up-to-date and accurate.
• Facilitate the process for obtaining prior authorizations for various insurance types.
• Work with providers and patients to understand and comply with payor coverage requirements.
• Process payment for services rendered.
• Evaluate and escalate patient accounts that do not meet insurance or provider guidelines.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and refer to appropriate teams as needed.
• Verify equipment scheduled for return or pickup to ensure correct billing.
• Participate actively in meetings as necessary.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned and directed.

Basic Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Eligible to work in the United States and not require work authorization from us now or in the future.
• A minimum of an associate’s degree or 2 years of relevant (authorization, claims, billing) experience is required.
