Auditor I-III (Statewide)

Texas Workforce Commission · Austin, TX · 1 mo ago
Accounting$5k–$6k/moFull-time
We need to output HTML fragment with sections: About the role? Actually the posting includes "Who We Are", "Who You Are", "What You Will Do", "You Qualify With", "You Are a Great Fit With", "You Gain", "Veterans". Also "How To Apply" which we must remove (application instructions). Also we need to remove boilerplate like EEO etc. There's no explicit EEO but there is visa sponsorship note, which is not boilerplate? It's a requirement; we should keep? The instruction: Remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. The visa sponsorship note is a requirement, not boilerplate; but it's duplicated later (same note appears twice). We should keep one instance? Probably keep it as part of qualifications? It's a condition. Could be placed in a short p. But we need to preserve all substantive information. The note about visa sponsorship and Texas residency is substantive. We'll keep it maybe under a "Requirements" section? But we have no explicit Requirements heading; we can create a section "Requirements" if there is content. The instruction: Use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). So we can map content to these headings. We need to decide which sections to include based on actual content. Content breakdown: - Who We Are: description of TWC, location, family friendly, benefits, etc. This could be "About the role"? Actually "About the role" is about the job, not the organization. But we could use "About the role" for description of the role? However we have "Who We Are" which is about the organization. The instruction says use headings like About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. It doesn't forbid other headings? It says use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). Likely they expect us to use those headings where appropriate. We can also add other headings if needed? Probably better to stick to those. We have: - Responsibilities: "What You Will Do" (list of duties). That's a list. - Requirements/Qualifications: "You Qualify With" (experience requirements for each level). Also "You Are a Great Fit With" (skills/knowledge). Could be Qualifications and Skills. - Benefits: "You Gain" includes Family Friendly Certified Workplace, Competitive salary, Defined Retirement Benefit Plan, Optional 401(k) and 457 accounts, Medical Insurance, Paid time off, Additional benefits link, Duty involves up to 25% travel. - Pay: "Competitive salary: $5,000-$5,600.00/month (Depending on experience)" is in You Gain but we can extract to Pay section. - Schedule: Not explicitly given; maybe not include. - About the role: Could be "Who We Are" plus maybe "Who You Are"? Actually "Who You Are" describes ideal candidate. That could be part of Requirements/Qualifications. We need to avoid repeating job title as heading. Not include Job ID. We must not include sections with filler like "commensurate with experience". We have specific salary range, so Pay section is valid. We must not create Benefits section unless posting actually states them. It does state benefits. We must not create Schedule section unless posting states schedule; none. We must preserve all substantive information; not invent or summarize away detail. We need to output only HTML fragment, no /, no markdown fences. We'll produce something like:

About the role

Texas Workforce Commission connects people with careers across the state. While we are based in Austin on the north lawn of the Texas State Capitol, we have offices statewide. We're a Family Friendly Certified Workplace with great work-life balance, competitive salaries, extensive opportunities for training and development, and fantastic benefits. Although this position is located at our Main building at 101 E 15th St, Austin, TX, the job can be performed from any of our office locations statewide. You must be a Texas resident to work for the Texas Workforce Commission or willing to relocate to Texas. TWC is not considering applications from individuals who require sponsorship for an employment visa, now or in the future, for this position. This includes, but is not limited to, individuals currently on H-1B, F-1 (OPT/CPT), or H-4 visas.

  • May be called to serve as a witness and provide testimony in administrative and/or judicial proceedings.
  • Perform other duties and task as assigned.
But we need to avoid duplication: The first three bullet points about Auditor I-III are actually from "What You Will Do" section describing levels. Could combine. Better to separate "What You Will Do" as responsibilities, and the level descriptions could be part of Responsibilities as well. We also have "You Qualify With" which includes experience requirements for each level. That could go under Requirements or Qualifications. We have "You Are a Great Fit With" which includes knowledge/skills. That could go under Skills. We have "You Gain" which includes benefits and pay. We'll split: Benefits section for benefits, Pay section for salary. We also have Veterans section: "Veterans Use your military skills to qualify for this position or other jobs! Go to www.texasskillstowork.com to translate your military work experience and training courses into civilian job terms, qualifications, and skill sets. Also, you can compare this position to military occupations (MOS) at the Texas State Auditor's Office by pasting this link into your browser: https://hr.sao.texas.gov/Compensation/MilitaryCrosswalk/MOSC_AccountingAuditingandFinance.pdf." That is substantive info about veterans; we could include under a section maybe "Veterans" but not in the list of headings. However instruction says use h3 for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). It doesn't forbid other headings but says "use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)". Likely they expect us to use those headings where appropriate; we could still add a Veterans heading if we want, but maybe better to incorporate into Benefits or Qualifications? It's about veterans preference; could be a note. Might be considered boilerplate? Not exactly; it's a specific veterans outreach. I'd keep it as a separate section maybe "Veterans". But to be safe, we could put it under "Benefits" as additional info? However it's not a benefit per se. Could be under "Qualifications"? Not ideal. Given the instruction to prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones, we could incorporate veterans note into a short p under Benefits or Qualifications. But it's not a benefit; it's a note about veterans. Could be under "About the role"? Not really. Maybe we can create a section "Veterans" as an h3; it's not in the example list but the instruction says "use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)". The "e.g." suggests those are examples, not an exhaustive list. So we can add other headings if needed. I'll add a Veterans section. Now we need to ensure we don't repeat duplicated lines. The visa sponsorship note appears twice; we should include only once. Also the "How To Apply" section must be removed. Now we need to preserve all substantive information: Let's list all substantive pieces: - Who We Are: description of TWC, location, family friendly, offices statewide, main building address, job can be performed from any office statewide, must be Texas resident or willing to relocate, visa sponsorship restriction. - Who You Are: ideal candidate will be able to plan for and execute detailed on-site compliance reviews of programs and grantees to determine degree of adherence to applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and policies. - What You Will Do: Auditor I, II, III descriptions (list). Then list of duties (many bullet points). We'll combine. - You Qualify With: experience requirements for Auditor I, II, III (1,2,3 years). Also note that relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications. Also note that CPA, CIA, CISA license/certificate will satisfy minimum requirements. - You Are a Great Fit With: list of knowledge/skills: Knowledge of fiscal and/or program operations. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of Uniform Grant Guidance (UGG). Skill in composing clear and concise audit procedures, work papers, findings and recommendations. Ability to train others and to lead a monitoring team. Ability to gather and analyze accurate and relevant audit information, and to communicate audit findings and recommendations effectively. Ability to process and assimilate large amounts of reading materials; to perform numerical analyses; to interpret statues and instructions; to evaluate accounting and/or management operations systems for accuracy and legal conformance; and to accurately complete and assemble audit working papers into a final report format. - You Gain: Family Friendly Certified Workplace. Competitive salary: $5,000-$5,600.00/month (Depending on experience). Defined Retirement Benefit Plan. Optional 401(k) and 457 accounts. Medical Insurance. Paid time off, including time for vacation, sick and family care leave. Additional benefits for active employees can be found at https://www.ers.texas.gov/Active-Employees/Health-Benefits. Duty involves up to 25% travel within the state of Texas. - Veterans: Use your military skills to qualify for this position or other jobs! Go to www.texasskillstowork.com to translate your military work experience and training courses into civilian job terms, qualifications, and skill sets. Also, you can compare this position to military occupations (MOS) at the Texas State Auditor
