About the role
The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking a Full-Time Auditor (GS-0511-12) to support the Inspector General, Audit Division at Headquarters, U.S. Special Operations Command, located at MacDill AFB, FL. The position offers a salary range of $89,508 - $116,362, with potential for relocation and superior qualifications. This position is subject to a Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
Responsibilities
- Serve as a professional auditor in support of a military command.
- Independently plan and conduct evaluations of financial accounts, special access programs, and management operations and controls.
- Interpret findings and develop and modify methods and techniques to resolve a variety of issues.
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify issues, trends, and recommendations.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, concisely, and with accuracy, maintaining good working relations with all individuals and organizations.
- Work independently and manage multiple priorities with varying levels of supervision.
- Understand DoD/military financial management systems, regulations, and internal controls.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
Requirements
- Knowledge of audits of policies, programs, and operations.
- Professional comprehensive knowledge of principles, theories, techniques and practices of accounting and management.
- Professional comprehensive knowledge of the principles, theories, techniques, and practices of accounting, management, and auditing to independently plan and conduct evaluations of financial accounts, special access programs, and/or management operations and controls.
- Knowledge of current trends and developments in the auditing profession with the government, public accounting firms, and industry.
- Knowledge of auditing principles, standards, and methodologies (e.g. generally accepted government auditing standards (GAGAS), performance auditing techniques), agency practices, policies, and functions.
- Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and techniques of statistical sampling.
- Skills in planning and developing the audit, interpreting findings, and developing and modifying methods and techniques to resolve a variety of issues.
- Skills in analyzing financial and operational data to identify issues, trends, and recommendations.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, concisely, and with accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with varying levels of supervision.
- Knowledge of DoD/military financial management systems, regulations, and internal controls.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- This position is designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force civilian drug-testing program.
