Duties Description
Aid in designing and developing training courses and conducting instructional sessions. Manage and facilitate staff development events. Maintain databases for tracking attendance and CPE records.
Responsibilities
Manage the SDU mailbox. Update the SDU webpage. Draft and revise SDU policies and procedures.
Requirements
This position is statewide. Can be assigned to regional offices or the central office.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with or supplemented by 24 credit hours in accounting and/or auditing. Civil Service examinations are not required under NY HELPS Program.
- Non-Competitive Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 24 credit hours in accounting and/or auditing and one year of professional accounting and/or auditing experience. Master's or doctoral degree with 24 credit hours in accounting and/or auditing and one year of professional accounting and/or auditing experience.
- Competitive Minimum Qualifications: Currently reachable on eligible list for Auditor Trainee 1 (Municipal), eligible under 55 b/c program, or eligible to transfer to Auditor 1 (Municipal) under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
- Transfer: One year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in an approved title for transfer allocated to an SG-16 or above. One year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in an approved title for transfer allocated to an SG-14 or above.
- Additional Comments: Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and presentation software; customer-service oriented; excellent organizational skills; knowledge of local government operations, governmental accounting, and auditing standards.
