Audit Supervisor - Government

About the role

The Weaver Public Sector Audit team is seeking an Audit Supervisor – Public Sector to lead day-to-day fieldwork and sections of multiple public sector audits. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Owns planning, risk assessment, and supervision of public sector audits
• Reviews complex areas within public sector audits
• Acts as a key contact for client controllers, CFOs, grants managers, and business officers
• Led state and local government audits and other public sector engagements
• Manages multiple priorities while delivering exceptional client service
• Supports team development and ensures high-quality execution of audits

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 4-5 years of experience in public accounting
• CPA candidate
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAS, GASB, internal controls, and documentation standards
• GAGAS (Yellow Book) experience and Uniform Guidance/Single Audit leading experience
• Demonstrated supervisory experience
• Master’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
• CPA preferred
