Audit Supervisor - Government
About the role
The Weaver Public Sector Audit team is seeking an Audit Supervisor – Public Sector to join their dynamic team. This role is responsible for leading day-to-day fieldwork and sections of multiple public sector audits, ensuring high-quality execution, technical compliance, and team development.
Responsibilities
- Owns planning, risk assessment, and supervision
- Reviews complex areas
- Is a key contact for client controllers, CFOs, grants managers, and business officers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 4-5 years of experience of public accounting experience
- CPA candidate
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAS, GASB, internal controls, and documentation standards
- GAGAS (Yellow Book) experience and Uniform Guidance/Single Audit leading experience
- Experience leading state and local government audits and other public sector engagements (governmental entities, educational institutions, or nonprofits)
- Demonstrated supervisory experience
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering exceptional client service
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA preferred

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, 4-5 years of public accounting experience, and be a CPA candidate. Additional qualifications include strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAS, GASB, internal controls, and documentation standards, GAGAS (Yellow Book) experience and Uniform Guidance/Single Audit leading experience, experience leading state and local government audits and other public sector engagements, and demonstrated supervisory experience. Candidates with a Master’s degree in Accounting or related field and CPA certification are preferred.
