About the Role
The Healthcare Compliance Senior Auditor ensures adherence to healthcare laws, regulations, and internal policies by planning and executing comprehensive compliance audits, analyzing risk exposures, and guiding corrective actions. They develop key components of the Compliance Program such as policies, procedures, training modules, and monitoring systems, fostering a culture of integrity and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Plan, conduct, and oversee audits in finance, operations, and research areas.
- Analyze audit results to identify root causes, risks, and draft reports with management action plans.
- Support the development and maintenance of compliance documentation aligned with federal and state regulations.
- Design and deliver compliance training sessions for staff, providers, and leadership.
- Perform risk assessments, monitoring, and audits to identify vulnerabilities proactively.
- Lead investigations, develop corrective action plans, and resolve compliance issues promptly.
- Mentor guest auditors, manage projects, and ensure quality assurance.
- Collaborate with leadership and clinical teams to integrate compliance into daily operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; healthcare compliance certifications (CHC, CPA, CIA, CFE) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in healthcare compliance, audit, or related fields.
- Expertise in healthcare regulations (HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, fraud statutes).
Skills
- Proficient in audit methodologies, controls evaluation, data analytics, and compliance training.
- Skilled in Epic, Excel, Word, and healthcare billing systems.
- Strong communication, organizational, and reporting skills.
