Audit Senior

About the role

The Senior Accountant position at Novogradac is designed for individuals who can bring unique perspectives and bold ideas to an inclusive, innovative environment. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with 2-3 years of experience in public accounting, and a strong understanding of accounting and auditing rules.

Responsibilities

• Manage audit and other attest assignments as directed
• Conduct thorough engagement reviews
• Accept increasing responsibility for engagement management
• Recognize and propose solutions for potential problem areas during engagements
• Conduct business-specific research, gather and analyze data, interpret results, compile reports, and make recommendations
• Develop, strengthen, and maintain effective client relationships through professionalism, responsiveness, and a service-oriented approach
• Increase the team's profitability by managing time and Staff efficiently, contributing ideas, and adding value
• Supervise and mentor Staff Accountants
• If not already obtained, work toward obtaining a CPA license
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications and Expectations

• Exhibit a strong understanding of accounting and auditing rules
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrate a level of intellectual curiosity
• Perform work accurately and in a time-efficient manner, with strong attention to detail
• Maintain strong organizational and follow-through skills
• Able to effectively prioritize a fast-paced and varied workload, manage concurrent and shifting priorities
• Able to accept constructive feedback from management and make adjustments as directed
• Able to work collaboratively and foster a productive, team-oriented environment
• Strong computer skills, including solid skill in the Microsoft Office suite (particularly Excel) and report writing tools
• Maintain a professional demeanor with co-workers and clients
• Able to meet internal Firm deadlines (time entry, billing, etc.)
• Available to work evenings and weekends based on position needs, and to travel domestically if required

Pay and Schedule

• $77,000 to $94,000 depending on experience
