Responsibilities
- Prepares meaningful and well-written correspondence and clear, concise workpapers with definitive conclusions.
- Demonstrates an awareness of Firm software packages and uses them effectively.
- Progresses towards or completes the CPA certification process (at least one part taken for promotion to Senior and all parts required for promotion to Supervisor).
- Completes engagements by participating in engagement planning (budgeting, risk assessment, strategic development, and client assistance coordination), reviewing and supervising staff work, identifying issues, applying accounting principles and auditing procedures, resolving open items, and preparing/reviewing a complete set of financial statements.
Client Service Satisfaction
- Develops an understanding of the client's business and the unique aspects of the industry in which it operates, including significant tax issues.
- Demonstrates and proactively supports the Firm's commitment to providing quality client service and developing positive working relationships with clients.
- Suggests additional Firm client services to clients, when appropriate.
Staff Development
- Delegates appropriate work to staff and provides honest, objective, and constructive feedback in a timely manner.
- Be accessible to staff to assist in resolving concerns and questions.
- Participates in in-house training for interns and new staff.
- Fosters an environment of teamwork by example, as a team leader.
- Participates in the recruitment of new staff by referring and/or interviewing candidates, and attending on-campus recruiting events, when appropriate.
Practice Management & Firm Profitability
- Proactively manages engagements by anticipating problems and issues and keeping the in-charge/manager informed of engagement status.
- Affirms and maintains both individual and total engagement productivity (realization, chargeability, etc.).
- Participates in Firm marketing activities/events.
- Complies with Firm practice management procedures and systems.
