Audiovisual Technician - Cincinnati Events

About the role

Mills James is seeking an energetic and service-focused Audiovisual (AV) Technician to join their Cincinnati Live Events team. This role involves supporting the setup, operation, and breakdown of audiovisual equipment for meetings and corporate events.

Responsibilities

• Support the setup, operation, and strike of audiovisual equipment for meetings and corporate events
• Collaborate with onsite event staff and team members to ensure events run smoothly and exceed client expectations
• Deliver exceptional client service in a hospitality-focused environment
• Assist with audio, video, lighting, and presentation systems used during meetings and events
• Troubleshoot basic technical issues quickly and efficiently
• Maintain and organize AV equipment inventory
• Perform routine maintenance on audiovisual equipment
• Communicate equipment repair or replacement needs to the Mills James Logistics Manager
• Provide direction or support to additional event staff when assigned

Requirements

• Professional appearance and positive attitude in a high-service event environment
• Basic knowledge of audio, video, lighting, and computer systems used for meetings and events
• Understanding of AV signal flow
• Experience with video conferencing platforms or IT systems (a plus)
• Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills
• Excellent attention to detail and strong troubleshooting ability
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Availability to work early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends based on event schedules
• At least one year of experience in the audiovisual or live events industry

Qualifications

• Ability to drive cargo vans or box trucks when required
