Job Responsibilities
- Assist audiologists in conducting hearing tests and evaluations for patients of all ages.
- Prepare and maintain audiometric equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality before use.
- Carry out basic hearing screenings and assist with diagnostic audiometric testing under supervision.
- Conduct patient interviews to collect relevant medical and hearing history information.
- Provide patient education regarding hearing care, hearing aid maintenance, and auditory health.
- Document test results accurately in both written and electronic medical records according to established protocols.
- Assist in fitting, adjusting, and maintaining hearing aids and other assistive listening devices.
- Recognize urgent audiological conditions and refer patients promptly to the audiologist or healthcare provider.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of audiology instruments and supplies.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support comprehensive patient care.
- Adhere to infection control policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements to ensure a safe work environment.
- Communicate professionally and courteously with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate from an accredited college or vocational program in audiology technology or related health sciences approved by the appropriate state agency.
- Experience: Two years experience as an Audiology Technician or equivalent role within the past 5 years.
- Certifications: Active BLS obtained from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- Licensure: Current certification or licensure as required by state regulations or professional accrediting bodies for audiology technicians.
- Legal Authorization to Work in the United States: The contract worker performing under this contract must be a U.S. Citizen
