About the role

Provides a full range of audiological services, counseling, and (re)habilitative planning with families and other professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Provides audiological services, screening, diagnostic, and (re)habilitation.
  • Provides all services related to hearing aids, including but not limited to: hearing aid evaluations, counseling patients and families regarding results, hearing aid counseling, electroacoustic and real ear testing, troubleshooting hearing aid failure, adjusting hearing aids, setting programmable instruments, earmold impressions, and modifications.
  • Provides services to patients of all ages (birth to extreme age), including hearing screening in the Intensive Care Nursery, auditory brainstem evaluation of pediatric populations, otoacoustic emissions testing, and other age-/function-specific procedures.
  • Consults with physicians, teachers, parents, and others about results and recommendations.
  • Prepares formal written reports for physicians and other referral sources.
  • Responds to community requests for information related to hearing, hearing loss, and services offered.
  • Attends staff meetings and exchanges information with other staff regarding mutual patients.
  • Provides information to the Coordinator about unusual patient contacts.
  • Responds to convalescent, rehabilitation, and acute hospitals for out-of-office visits as requested.
  • Provides 5 hours of billable patient contact per day.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Audiology preferred; Master’s degree or equivalent acceptable.
  • 2–3 years of progressively responsible experience as an audiologist in an acute care hospital or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Licensed Speech Pathologist required at hire.
  • Integrative Agitation Management (IAM) certification required within 30 days of hire.

Pay

Total compensation range: $61.95 – $87.82 per hour ($51.73 – $77.60 base rate plus $10.22/hr per diem differential).
