Audiologist Fellowship - Adult Hearing Aids

About the role

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a new competitive and compensated Fellowship in Adult Hearing Aids. The program provides enhanced training in clinical service delivery and translational research related to amplification and hearing loss.

Responsibilities

• Completes full diagnostic hearing assessments using appropriate testing methods and equipment.
• Formulates and/or implements a treatment plan addressing deficits and patient/family areas of concern.
• Provides education/consultation to patients, families, healthcare teams, and the community.
• Enhances and impacts knowledge of communicative and related disorders.
• Initiates treatment with standardized measures to establish baseline functioning.
• Designs or participates in the design of research studies resulting in modifications of existing protocols, preferred practice patterns, and outcomes.

Qualifications

• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology.
• Eligibility for Tennessee licensure in audiology.
• Experience in adult hearing aid amplification.
• Mastery in knowledge and skills development in audiometric assessment across the age range and at least two of the following areas: infant hearing screening and audiometric estimation, hearing aid assessment and fitting, cochlear implant assessment and fitting, and balance function testing.

Benefits

The Fellow will have the opportunity to attend any of the three-course sequence in Amplification completed by Au.D. students, work with clinical supervisors, and participate in the clinical research program in the Hearing Aid Laboratory.

Pay

$60K + fringe benefits.

Schedule

This is a term position with a reduced salary of $60K + fringe benefits.
