Responsibilities
- Conducts, interprets and provides appropriate documentation for hearing and balance testing including, but not limited to: - Complete audiologic evaluations - Typmanometry and acoustic reflex measures - Otoacoustic emissions (OAE) - Medical/legal evaluations (IME) - Auditory Brainstem Response testing (ABR) - Electrocochleography (Ecog) - Electronystagmography (ENG) - Rotational Vestibular Chair testing (ROTO) - Computerized Dynamic Posturography (Post) - Vestibular Autorotation testing (VAT) - Infared Video Eye Movement recordings (IRV) - Canalith Repositioning Maneuvers (CRP)
- Counsels and rehabilitates patients and families with hearing loss including counseling patients regarding audiologic findings and hearing aid candidacy, conducting hearing aid evaluations, single-sided deafness or CHL/MHL device option demos, hearing aid orientation & fittings, hearing aid repairs/modifications, real ear measurements, and hearing aid check-in and logging.
- May conduct cochlear implant evaluations, programming & counseling, and central auditory evaluations.
- Develops vestibular rehabilitation and fall prevention program by utilizing Balance Master platform and software onsite and in research clinics.
- Coordinates and writes applications for research grants to compete for outside funding for research objectives.
Qualifications
- Minimum Required Experience: 5 years experience
- Education: Masters in Audiology
- Training: Special Skills
- Licensure: Current Louisiana State license as Audiologist.
