About the role
The Audio-Visual Technician supports the event production and audio-visual needs of the Peabody Institute, which includes both the Conservatory and the Preparatory. This role is integral to the day-to-day operations of performances, covering over 1000 events annually.
Responsibilities
- Supports stage production, sound, lighting, and technical needs of rehearsals and performances at the Peabody Institute
- Lives audio mixing, sound reinforcement, and live video production
- Aids in the planning and coordination of all events requiring A/V support
- Manages a number of public stage events independently
- Provides production support as needed for certain events, such as setting up the stage, audio visual equipment, stage lighting, and organizing personnel
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED with 2 years related experience
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Two to four years’ experience in live audio mixing, sound reinforcement, live video production and setup
- Experience in live classical and modern music productions and knowledge of concert etiquette
Qualifications
- Proven organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and supervise student employees
- Professional demeanor, comfort in high-pressure situations, adaptable, solutions-oriented problem solver
- Knowledge of computers including MS Office applications
- Ability to work long hours and non-traditional shifts, evenings, and weekends
Skills
- Demonstrated skills and experience with live audio mixing, sound reinforcement, and live video production
- Working experience with wireless microphones, Dante, and specific placement and choice of microphone for different situations and instruments
- Experience in and working knowledge of theatrical events and terminology, especially in regard to dance, opera, and orchestra

Pay
$16.20 - $28.80 HRLY ($47,700 targeted)
