Audio Visual Technician
About the Role
This position supports the day-to-day Casino operations, including occasional nightlife and live entertainment, under the supervision of Entertainment management. The role involves managing and troubleshooting audio-visual (AV) systems, training tier 1 Technicians, and maintaining effective working relationships with employees and guests.
Responsibilities
- Manage new and existing AV systems at Harrah’s and Caesars Republic, including overhead audio systems, digital screen display systems, and potential new enhancements.
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on AV equipment.
- Install and cable video, lighting, and sound systems in various areas of the Hotel and Gaming floor.
- Set up and operate AV equipment as required.
- Organize and clean work areas.
- Maintain regular, predictable attendance.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting of all equipment serviced by the department and assist in training tier 1 technicians.
- Attain required OSHA certifications, including fall protection.
- Work at heights as required by the AV department.

- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Available for varied shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum four years of audio-visual operations experience.
- Act as a role model to other team members and present oneself professionally.
- Adhere to all regulatory, company, and department policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
- Working knowledge of computers, basic carpentry, TVs, electrical, mechanical equipment, audio, lighting, and video applications.
- Understanding and compliance with all company and departmental rules, policies, and procedures.

- Work in a fast-paced, production environment with rapidly changing priorities.
- Work in areas that may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, smoky, illuminated, dimly lit, or involve moving objects, high places, and slippery surfaces.
- Exposure to vibration, solvents/oils, fumes/odors, dirt/dust, and explosive materials.
- Work may be performed inside and outside in all weather conditions.
- Knowledge and use of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, flame/heat-generated devices, and computer equipment.
- Environment may be stressful; work may be performed alone, with others, or around others with verbal and face-to-face contact.
- Shift work with potential for extended days.
- Physical demands include:
- Seldom sitting, bending, and reaching from floor to ceiling.
- Crouching, kneeling, climbing, balancing, pushing/pulling wheeled carts (static push/pull of 150 lbs.), lifting/carrying 25–100+ lbs.
- Driving, repetitive use of both hands (light and firm/strong grasping, finger dexterity), and use of hand and power tools.
- Occasional standing and walking; lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs.
- Requires normal hearing, near/far visual acuity with depth perception, field of vision, accommodation, and absence of color blindness.
- Ability to perform simple and complex tasks, including reading, writing, math, spatial awareness, clerical work, compiling/coordinating/analyzing/synthesizing information, instructing others, precision work, following instructions, influencing others, meeting time requirements, memorization, problem-solving, and independent judgment/decision-making.
